James Hine | Managing Director – IMM, CPMD
James joined Simeka Health in 2025. He obtained his Graduate Diploma from the Institute of Marketing Management in 1998, his CPMD from WITS Faculty of Commerce, Law and Management in 2003. James has spent more than 25 years in the financial services, with a strong focus on healthcare, employee benefits.
Richard Tyler | Director and Chair, BCom
Richard joined Simeka in 2011 and is currently the managing director of Simeka Consultants and Actuaries and an exco member of Sanlam Corporate. Richard is a graduate of the University of Port Elizabeth with a BCom degree and Diploma in Investment Management.
He has vast experience within the employee benefits industry, has served on various industry bodies and has also consulted extensively to labour on retirement fund related matters.
Mbuso Mtshali | Non-Executive Director, BProc LLB
Mbuso joined Sanlam Life in 2004 and is currently the Head of Corporate Governance and Company Secretary. Mbuso is a graduate of the Rhodes University with BProc and LL.B degrees. Mbuso has over 29 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Shameema Harnekar | Non-Executive Director, CA(SA)
Shameema Harnekar joined Sanlam Corporate in April 2018 as Reporting Specialist. In March 2020, she became Head of Finance for Health within Sanlam Corporate. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from UCT and is a qualified chartered accountant, CA(SA). Shameema has more than nine years of experience in the financial services industry.
